Global Yoga Alliance (GYA) officially launched its Global Yoga Mission – “Yoga for Healing, Health & Happiness” – at the International Yoga Summit 2026, held at Kri Wellness Living, Bangkok, Thailand. The initiative aims to create a healthier, happier and more harmonious world through yoga, holistic wellness and preventive healthcare.
Addressing the gathering, Yogshiromani Dr. Gopal Ji emphasised that yoga is not merely a physical practice but a holistic approach to improving health, strengthening emotional well-being, promoting inner peace and fostering social harmony. He called for a global movement to make yoga and wellness education accessible to communities across geographical and cultural boundaries.
In response to growing concerns related to stress, lifestyle diseases and overall well-being, the mission aims to develop a worldwide network of trained professionals, establish institutional partnerships and expand access to yoga and preventive healthcare services.
The mission envisions a healthier, happier and harmonious world through yoga and holistic wellness. Its first phase, targeted for completion by 24 October 2028, includes training 500 yoga and wellness trainers, adopting 240 schools and institutions for yoga education, appointing 24 state coordinators, developing 24 master trainers and preparing 12 trainers to conduct online yoga classes. The initiative also plans to establish 12 GYA Vedic Wellness Centres, known as GYAAN Kendras, envisioned as hubs for yoga, wellness and preventive healthcare, each with outpatient department (OPD) facilities and 50 beds.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished personalities from spirituality, wellness and public service. The Chief Guest was Police Lieutenant General Dr. Norawat Charoen-Rajapark (Peck). The Guests of Honour included B.K. Sabaithip Sirirattumrong (La), National Coordinator of Brahma Kumaris, Thailand, and President of the Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Foundation; Dr. Pisit (Om) Mahasawanskul, Delegate from Thailand; Nipassawan Ritkeaw (Khun Bew), Co-Founder and Managing Director of Kri Yoga and Kayamana Wellness, Bangkok; and Khun Kris Narongdej, a prominent personality in Thailand. Global Yoga Alliance extended special thanks to Master Kamal for warmly welcoming the Indian delegation and facilitating the event.
Through professional training, online programmes, school initiatives, institutional collaborations and the proposed GYAAN Kendras, GYA aims to make holistic wellness more accessible to people worldwide. The launch at the International Yoga Summit 2026 marks an important step towards international cooperation in health and wellness. Global Yoga Alliance invites yoga practitioners, educational institutions, wellness professionals and communities to join its mission of promoting healing, health, happiness and a more harmonious world.
