
Kochi: After three successful seasons, the grand launch of the fourth edition of the Federal Bank Kochi Marathon, organized by CleoSportz, was inaugurated by Kerala High Court Judge Justice Devan Ramachandran. He remarked that a great city is essential to host a world-class marathon and that events like this help place Kochi on the global stage, earning the city greater recognition. “Today, the marathon has outgrown the city. This growth will inspire Kochi to improve further,” he said.
This year, the marathon is being organized under the theme ‘Move with Purpose’. More than just a sporting event, the aim is to create a platform that supports the aspirations of each participant. Season 4 will bring together thousands of people running for social causes and healthier lifestyles. “This concept reminds us that every movement is a visual representation of a goal. Through this, we ensure that everyone’s purpose finds a place here,” said CleoSportz Directors Anish Paul, Baiju Paul, Sabari R. Nair, and M. R. K. Jayaram.
The marathon, scheduled for February 8, 2026, will feature four categories: the 42.195 km marathon, 21.1 km half marathon, 10 km run, and 3 km green run.
The launch event was attended by M. V. S. Murthy, Federal Bank Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer; Sasidharan C. M., Senior Vice President and Ernakulam Zonal Head; Josemon P. David, Vice President and Ernakulam Regional Head; Anand Menezes- Race Director and Olympian; Dr. Johnson K. Varghese- Lead Consultant, Emergency Medicine, Aster Medcity; Dr. Tom Joseph- Jain University Director of New Initiatives; Anil Kumar- Olympian, along with officials from the Kerala State Athletics Association, Kerala Sports Council and Kochi Marriott Hotel.
