Covid Wiped Out His Business. The Land He Quietly Bought for Years Brought Him Back — Meet Md Khushnood Alam of Miracle Group

Pune, Maharashtra — There is a particular kind of silence that follows a business collapse. Md Khushnood Alam knows it well. When the pandemic hit his beverages business, it didn’t just dent the numbers — it unbalanced everything he had spent years building.

What most people never saw was the quiet habit that saved him. For years, whatever he earned, Alam had been putting into land. Not for show. Not for headlines. Just a conviction that real estate was the one thing that would still be standing when everything else wasn’t.

It was.

Today, Md Khushnood Alam heads Miracle Group, a cluster of six to seven companies operating across more than 20 locations in India, with a signature township near Wai, a high-rise project underway in Ranchi, and two more large developments set to launch in the Mumbai-Pune corridor.

Jamshedpur to Pune: A Businessman by Instinct

Alam was born and raised in Jamshedpur, into a family where business wasn’t a career option — it was simply the way life was done. His father, a natural risk-taker, shaped that instinct early.

By his teens, Alam was already in the market — reading it, understanding it, and taking on whatever work came his way. He spent time in a job too, and treats that period as part of his education rather than a detour.

“The market changes every year. Property prices change, people’s mindset changes,” he says. “The only thing that should stay constant is our ability to understand both.”

Twelve years ago, he moved to Maharashtra and settled in Pune. The language was unfamiliar, the networks had to be built from zero. He never framed it as a barrier.

He also credits his family for the years that followed, describing their support as the backbone of everything he was able to rebuild.

“Success feels different when the people who believed in you before the world did are standing beside you,” he says. “That is one of the reasons the company has ‘World’ in its name.”

Then came Covid. And then came the comeback.

Building Miracle Group

Rebuilt around real estate — the sector that had quietly carried him through — Miracle Group today operates across the full width of the industry:

Development — plotting, flats, farmhouses, farmhouse plot townships, and both small and large-scale township development, backed by 7-8 years of active on-ground experience.

Construction & Interiors — an A-to-Z vertical with its own dedicated team, handling homes, commercial spaces, towers, and high-rise construction, along with complete 2D and 3D interior execution.

Brokerage — a separate cell handling buy, sell and lease across residential, commercial, agricultural and plotted properties.

Real Estate Advisory — a professional team that works with clients on 10 to 20 year horizons, focused on helping them make well-informed, well-structured property decisions.

Seven Hills Wai: The Signature Project

Miracle Group’s flagship development is Seven Hills Wai — a RERA-registered NA plotting project spread across 40 acres in the Wai region of Satara district, near Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani. Registered under RERA number P52700011037, the project is developed by Venkateshwaraa Developers, Alam’s own development company, and comprises residential villa plots alongside a limited number of commercial plots.

The setting does much of the talking. Air quality in the region remains exceptionally clean, and every plot is designed so that the eventual home feels closer to a private resort than a conventional villa — with world-class amenities on site, including horse riding.

Location makes it practical as well as scenic: roughly two and a half hours from Pune and four and a half hours from Mumbai, placing it within easy reach for those looking at a second home, a weekend retreat, or a long-term lifestyle asset near two of Maharashtra’s most loved hill stations.

Beyond Wai, a high-rise tower project in Ranchi, Jharkhand is currently in process and expected to go live once RERA approval comes through in the next few months, while two further large-scale projects in the Mumbai-Pune zone are slated to launch within six to seven months. Hospitality, daily rentals and maintenance services are on the group’s roadmap next.

“Not a Plot. A Relationship.”

Ask Alam what he actually wants Miracle Group to be known for, and he doesn’t lead with square footage.

“I am not here to sell a property — any knowledgeable person can do that,” he says. “I am here to make you understand what you are actually building for your family.”

That belief runs into how the group operates.

“I know what I say today may be forgotten tomorrow,” he adds. “But I believe what I do for them will be remembered for far longer.”

The stated ambition is direct: to make Miracle World Real Estate LLP one of the leading real estate companies in the region.

For a man who rebuilt an empire on the land he bought when nobody was watching, it’s a goal that sounds less like a boast and more like a plan already in motion.
